Design FMEA

Design FMEA is a methodology used to reduce design risk to an organization and its customers. This workshop-intensive seminar addresses each step of the DFMEA process and allows participants to work in a team environment during the construction of a DFMEA.

 

Design of Experiments I

Designed experiments are an extremely powerful tool used to optimize processes. Learn how to utilize sequential experimentation to make your processes as efficient as they can be. Experimental selection, design, conduct and analysis are covered and reinforced through an actual DOE workshop. Prerequisite: Knowledge of basic algebra and familiarity with SPC concepts.

 

Designs of Experiments II (DOE II)

Enhance the basic experimental practices with an advanced set of DOE tools for accelerated optimization of a process. Advanced tools and methods such as mirror image designs, ANOVA, blocking mixtures designs, evolutionary operation and response surface methodology are covered. Exercises and a DOE workshop are used to reinforce the key concepts. Note: Computers will be used in this seminar. Prerequisite: Design of Experiments I and understanding of applied statistics.

 

Diagnostic Troubleshooting

Participants in this activity-based, three-day seminar learn the importance of using a diagnostic approach to determining the true causes of process related problems and selecting permanent solutions to those problems. Case studies and real-world examples are used throughout the course and allow participants opportunities to try various troubleshooting tools and develop a diagnostic approach to resolving process related problems and failures.

 

Geometric Dimensioning&Tolerancing GD&T

The course provides a sound fundamental background for the understanding and application of the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). The seminar content follows the ASME Y14.5M1994 standard and also addresses special applications such as the Auto Industry Addendum. Extensive application of exercises and problem solving results in strong reinforcement of the basic concepts.

 

ISO 14001 Lead Auditor

The ISO 14001 Lead Auditor course is a comprehensive training program that will assist auditors to successfully manage their Environmental Management System. A slide presentation visually illustrates an actual company's environmental aspects, a unique feature only in this course. Additionally, the course contains a solid body of environmental auditing knowledge accumulated from five years of EMS audits. This course is RAB/ASQ International and IRCA certified.

 

ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditing

This two-day seminar is based on the revised ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System standard. It is designed to provide professionals managers, ISO 9001 development project team members and others involved in the evaluation, development or maintenance of an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system with the knowledge needed to develop and effectively implement an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system. Each seminar topic contains a presentation and discussion of the topic material along with exercises or activities designed to strengthen the understanding of the topic's key concepts and their application.

 

ISO/TS 16949 Internal Auditing

This five-day, activity-based seminar will provide participants with the skills necessary to audit a quality management system to the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002. The first two days of the course provide participants with the skills necessary to effectively plan and conduct process-based quality management system audits as well as how to document the results in a concise audit report. The last three-days of the course provide participants with an understanding of the Automotive Core Tools: APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC and MSA, and how to audit these activities.

 

ISO/TS 16949 Internal Auditing

This activity-based seminar is based on the ISO/TS 16949:2002 Automotive Quality Management System standard. It is designed to provide professionals, managers, ISO/TS 16949 development project team members and others involved in the evaluation, development or maintenance of an ISO/TS 16949 quality management system with the knowledge needed to develop and effectively implement an ISO/TS 16949 quality management system. Measurement System Assessment 1 (Gage R&R)

Measurement systems are a critical component of any continuous improvement program. Without accurate and precise data, it is difficult or impossible to efficiently drive quality and productivity improvements. To ensure accurate and precise measurements are being used to drive continuous improvement, measurement system assessment is key. Through this workshop-based seminar, gain the knowledge necessary to conduct basic studies including a gage R&R, a bias study, a linearity study and attribute measurement system assessments.

 

Measurement System Assessment II

Non-typical and complex measurement systems require more advanced measurement system techniques. Gain the knowledge necessary to perform measurement system assessments for destructive testing, nesting systems and other advanced or non-standard situations. You will also gain enhanced understanding of core measurement assessment tools taught in MSA I.

 

Mistake Proofing

Mistake proofing (also called error proofing or poke yoke) is a highly efficient and cost effective method for preventing defects. Learn the different mistake proofing methods and see examples of mistake proofing in real world environments. In additional to the traditional manufacturing applications, transactional, safety and environmental examples are also covered.

 

Principles of Lean Office & Administration

Lean Office helps companies with any type of administrative function to streamline information flow - the gathering, improving, movement and storage of information. Just like lean for the factory floor, Lean Office focuses on reducing total cycle time.

 

Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)

Evaluate and prioritize the risks in your processes. Take targeted action to reduce risk, thus proactively addressing potential quality, cost, safety and delivery concerns. Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a requirement of the ISO/TS 16949 quality standard. The Certified Quality Improvement Associate is an individual who has a basic knowledge of quality tools and their uses and is involved in quality improvement projects but does not necessarily come from a traditional quality area.

 

Short Run SPC

Organizations running small numbers of parts or manufacturing batches are challenged in applying classical SPC tools to their processes. Short Run SPC offers you highly effective, specific SPC tools that provide process understanding and process improvement tools for this environment. Coding of data, standardized charting and capability assessment for short runs and batches are covered through theory, example and exercises.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Six Sigma Yellow Belt course provides "front line" employees and Six Sigma team members with an understanding of the philosophy and goals of Six Sigma as well as an understanding of their role in a Six Sigma program. This workshop intensive course walks participants through each step of the DMAIC process utilizing a series of hands-on exercises in each phase to build an understanding of how to work with data as part of a Six Sigma team.

 

Statistical Analysis for Process Improvement

Statistical analysis is a key to understanding processes and driving process improvement. Understand and use statistical tools utilized by process improvement experts to drive enhancements in quality and productivity. You will use Microsoft Excel to aid in improving the speed and efficiency of your analysis. Learn from industrial process case studies and examples throughout the course.

 

Statistical Process Control I (SPC I)

Learn statistical methods to reduce variation within your processes. SPC I is an introduction to the subject of variation reduction and process focus. It also provides extensive knowledge of core SPC tools including variables and attribute data control charts, process capability and rational sampling. Extensive use of examples and exercises allows you to actually construct numerous control charts and calculate capabilities from actual process data.

 

Statistical Process Control II (SPC II)

Building upon the knowledge gained in SPC I, gain an enhanced understanding of uncertainty, sample size selection and probabilities underlying control chart signals. Learn more sophisticated charting tools permitting charting of data collected at multiple locations, non-normal data and trending data as well as other special use charts such as CUSUM and EWMA charts. Also learn computation of non-normal capability.

 

Team Problem Solving

Gain the knowledge and skills to implement high-impact, efficient team problem solving. Learn each step of the problem solving process, from defining the problem thorough verification of solution effectiveness. You will be assembled into teams and sequentially work through a case study requiring the use of the TPS framework and multiple team problem solving skills.

 

Understanding AS9100

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), established a single common Quality Management System and developed the Aerospace AS9100 series, AS9100, AS9110, AS9120. Learn the necessary background to develop and implement a quality management system that meets the requirements of AS9100. This course is tailored to the aerospace industry and discussions of AS9100 Quality management systems-aerospace requirements.

 

Understanding ISO 9001:2008

This two day seminar is based on the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System standard. It is designed to provide professionals, managers, ISO 9001 development project team members and others involved in the evaluation, development or maintenance of an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system.

 

Understanding TS16949:2002

This two-day seminar is designed to provide suppliers to the automotive sector with an understanding of the ISO/TS 16949:2002 requirements and the new process approach required by the standard. This training identifies the changes between QS-9000,ISO/TS 16949:1999 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 and provides an overview of transition and registration issues. Exercises, teamwork and lectures prepare participants to effectively develop and implement a new quality system or transition their current QS-9000 or ISO/TS 16949:1999 based quality system to one compliant to the ISO/TS 16949:2002 requirements.

 

Value Stream Mapping

Value Stream Mapping is a tool used to create a material and information flow map of a product or processes. This powerful tool allows companies to map the flow of products in the back door as raw material, through all manufacturing process steps and off the loading dock as finished product. This is the Value Stream. You begin the journey with the current state map-it shows you where you're going and how you're going to get there. Based on your Value Stream Map, you can streamline work processes, thereby cutting lead times and reducing operating costs.
