The first impression is the most important and home staging is the most important tool in preparing your home for sale, an open house or for rental. Every home is unique and requires personalized attention. Learn the correct way to stage the home and avoid making crucial and costly mistakes. This certificate program will give you in the most up-to-date techniques to accent the uniqueness of your space through lecture/video format and hands-on training. Participants will receive a Home Staging Certificate upon completion. A three-hour business start-up class is included.

Prerequisite: Intermediate Interior Decorating. Final decorating theories are discussed including blueprint reading, electrical and lighting overlays, accessories and trends, cost estimations and the business aspect of decorator/client relationships. Skills learned from all three courses will be applied to a final project by preparing a furniture, color/pattern layout and cost schedule for the student's own home or one chosen in class. Interior Decorating, IntermediateClock Hours: 18.00CEUS: 1.80
Prerequisite: Beginning Interior Decorating. Decorating theories expand including lessons on continuing relationships of color and pattern, window treatment designs, textile and fabric applications, carpeting and oriental rugs, and wall coverings and painted finishes. Instruction will also be given on estimating yardage and calculating amounts needed for window treatments, carpet and wallpaper. Students will continue to apply floor-planning skills and incorporate the layout of color and pattern in a project. One off-site class will be held during the day. "Redo and reuse" is the hottest new trend in national decorating for today's homeowners. Get the updated looks, revive tired trends, and give your rooms a fresh new look while exploring the facts of basic design related to the principles of redo and reuse. Learn the tricks of the trade to make your home more appealing while adapting the techniques learned as we study your rooms in class. Certificate students will have the opportunity to have their rooms/home chosen for an interior redesign. Graduates of the Interior Decorating Certificate Program will enhance their design skills and benefit from this re-design technique. Students will receive a certificate in Interior Redesign upon completion of all course requirements. A three-hour business start-up class is included.
