Sewing is fun at any age! This class is for kids who want to explore the basics of sewing by constructing projects designed with them in mind. Students will learn all the parts of the sewing machine including how to load the thread, bobbin and needle; straight and zigzag stitches; create straight seams and use a hand needle. Discover the endless possibilities of sewing! This course is an opportunity for beginners or those with minimal experience who want to learn the practical basics and the creative potential sewing offers. Learn about the tools of the trade, straight and zigzag stitches, straight seams, curved seams, fabrics and patterns. An itemized materials list and recommendations for a sewing machine (needed in class) will be mailed to you upon registration. Students will complete a carry-all to donate (material provided), a decorative pillow, a project using a pattern and the class will choose the final project.
