Course Title: Intermediate Welding Program

Course Description:
This course is offered to students who completed the Basic Welding Day course and is open to persons demonstrating necessary welding skills to the instructor. Students are trained in the following: personal safety (continuation); SMAW welding in non-standard positions - 2 weeks; Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) to include solid wire and dual shield flux cored wire in fillet and groove welding - 2 weeks; Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in multiple positions and metals to include steel, aluminum and stainless steel - 4 weeks. The student will be required to perform welding to industrial standards such as the American Welding Society (AWS). Students completing this course will have basic and intermediate skills required as minimums for employment in the construction industry and fabrication shops, high-rise construction and maintenance welding and repairs.
